06 Aug Provinssirock 2017
My first time was in 2010, the second in 2016 and the latest only one and a half months ago. Three times I have visited Provinssirock festival in Seinäjoki but this year was a bit special compared to the previous times: I attended the festival as a journalist.
Being a media representative meant that I got free entry at the festival, and having photopass meant that I could photograph all the gigs from the front row. To me this was of course a dream come true! I love shooting events and especially people, and I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so excited about muddy fields and boiling hot tents.
Of course, entering a festival with a press- and photopass means that you are there to work. I feel lucky to have such an amazing job. By now my doings from Provinssirock have been published in my Instagram (@hannatuulonen), here in our blog, and in the beginning of September Varusmies-lehti will further publish a photo reportage of what it is like to be at a music festival for the first time ever.
The coming week might bring one more festival my way for this summer as Way Out West, a three day festival, is arranged in Gothenburg. But while waiting for a response to my accreditation application this is a perfect time to wind back to the end of June and the atmosphere of Provinssi.
